The ship model is of the Santa Maria, which was Christopher Columbus' flagship. It is mounted on what appears to be a cherry wood stand and placed on a navy background behind glass. The wood frame shadow box is cherry and has a brass plate that reads "Santa Maria Christopher Columbus' Flagship". The overall dimensions of the shadowbox are approximately 13 inches in width, 11 inches in height, and 2.5 inches in depth.
