John Martineau

John developed an interest in value relationships of color vis-à-vis the composition.
The interplay of light and dark combined with an inner sense of energy was always a major consideration in his work.
Martineau taught advanced printmaking and design at California State University in Northridge; conducted lectures and demonstrations; juried national print exhibitions; and was president of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society.
His numerous awards included the Grumbacher Award, Colorprint U.S.A., Emerging Graphic Artists,
California Design and many more. His work is reproduced in the book "Innovative Printmaking" by Thelma R. Newman.
