Mid 19th century hand colored yard-long engraving depicting “The Fetes at Cherbourg – Her Majesty Queen Victoria Proceeding to Visit the Emperor – The French and English Squadrons Saluting,” extracted from The Illustrated London News, 1858. Shows a panoramic view of French and English sailing ships firing their cannons to welcome the Queen, watched by groups of onlookers in rowboats in the foreground.
