From the series "53 stations of Tokaido". Also known as the First Tōkaidō or Hōeidō TōkaidōOriginal woodblock printed on hand-made (laid) paper. Depicts a traditional Japanese scene of merchants on the Nawate Road with their wares passing throught the rice paddies, with Mt. Fuji in the distance.
Matted with silk brocade and presented under glass in a black lacquer frame.
With columns of text within the print.
Early 20th Century.
Condition is very good with minor wear to frame surface and some very minor expected age-related discoloration to print and matting.
