Elegant Durastone that has been fully restored and is in mint condition with no cracks or chips. Love this guy's face! He looks like an old and wise French cat. Sculpture has been painted in the original black finish with dark green accents giving it a old World painted and patinaed look and feel. Finished with a heavy lacquer top coat and new felt added to the base (since the photos). Copy of the original sculpture card is included as pictured. Durastone is a special formulation of crushed stone mixed in a slurry, hand-cast and hand-finished. Copy of original sculpture card included as shown.
I have been working on a passion project that involves purchasing sculptures from various sources and with varying degrees of damage. It has been a labor of love with countless hours and loads of hard work. My goal is to restore these pieces back to their original grandeur, sometimes with an updated color palate when appropriate. I hope to not only keep another artist’s masterpiece living on for a few more decades, but to introduce the next generation to sculptures as home décor that may otherwise end up in our landfills.
