Provenance: This bowl was a part of the Marshall Field & Company of Chicago curated "Field's Afar" Collection when purchased many years ago, and it came with a card stating that it is an antique Chinese bowl from circa 1870. The card is included with this item.

According to Jan-Erik Nilsson of Gothenburg, Sweden (a renowned expert on antique Japanese and Chinese porcelain), the peach mark on the bottom of the bowl is known to have been the mark of a porcelain painter as early as the Daoguang period of the Qing dynasty, which means this bowl could have been made as early as 1821.

This bowl is in very good antique condition with only some minor chips on the inside of the base, which are not really visible when the bowl is sitting on a surface. The diameter of the opening of the bowl is approximately 4 5/8 inches, and the bowl is approximately 1 7/8 inches tall. less
