Pair"Vintage English Tea Caddy, This lamp is a very typical European Chinoiserie art form from the 17th to 18th centuries. It is a work of art no matter where it is placed indoors. Each one is hand-painted by the artist, It's characterized by extensive gilding, Chinese patterns and figures, and extravagant scenery.
Chinoiserie was often used in conjunction with the Baroque and Rococo decorative styles that reigned during the mid-18th century. Today, Chinoiserie is still a heavily emulated design trend because its whimsical, fantastical scenery and playful flourishes contribute to a charming decorative aesthetic.
