We purchased from a retired marine who belonged to an officers club. The club goes overseas to Okinawa and china and loads shipping containers full of antiques. They then ship them home and sell them to make money for future trips. These pieces were extremely dry, so we loaded them with penetrating oils. Once the chairs started rejecting excess oils we then hand rubbed, 5+ coats of danish oil over the top. These chair will last another 100 years in my opinion. It’s hard to get one let alone a pair for this price less
