RARE. A pair of wood Postmodern bookends by renowned architect Michael Graves (1934-2015) in maple with ebonized detailing at base. Three-tier design in a glowing cherry finish. Semicircular brass base with original Michael Graves sticker. Velvet on bottom for protection of tabletops.
Rare. Comparables not found.
Provenance: Private collection. Purchased directly from Graves at his Princeton, NJ design studio. (Seller's relative was manager of Mr. Graves' shop. Verifiable.)
Period: Vintage 1990s (approx 1994).
Materials: Maple, brass.
Condition: Impeccable, original vintage condition. NO damage, repairs or restorations. Careful storage has preserved condition.
