Created in Belgium during the last decade of the 19th century, this T'Felt oil on canvas painting depicts humble farm scene. Coming out of a thatched-roof house on the left, an anonymous woman is carrying a bucket to draw water from the well located in the front. Tall trees on the right create strong vertical lines that lead our eyes to the blue sky with fluffy clouds, while the foreground is occupied by a small pond on which a few ducks are floating. In the distance, a man wearing a red shirt is going into the woods. Humble and serene, the painting is signed and dated Julien T'Felt 1890 lower right.
