Made of cast bronze, very ornate and finely elaborated open work
A grill or lattice cover for a heather or ventilation vent
Similar pieces were usually made from cast iron; the bronze ones are scarce
This one was obviously from a very wealthy household
There is a circle in the middle which was designed to open and close
Marked on the underside UC 913-1
Circa 1800's, American, found in Rhode Island
