From what I have researched, W.D Hamilton and his brothers Frank and Donald owned a hardware store in Fisher Minnesota in the 1800's as well as an Opera House in Fisher. Headlines in the Crookston Daily Times for August 31, 1895 stated that the Hamilton Brothers Hardware Store was robbed. This sign may have hung in that store. I received information from a long time employee of the DeLaval factory that it looks like it could also have been used as an identifier on a stand at a show or exhibition. He also stated that it could have been illuminated by a spot light so it may have been on the outside of a building. In any case, it is an amazing piece of history for anyone collecting DeLaval memorabilia. Please review the pictures for the condition of the sign and I will be happy to send more pictures if needed. The sign measures 11'10'' long by 16.5" wide and 1.75" deep. less
