After Gustav Laeverenz (German, 1851-1909), oil on canvas. A brass plaque reads C. Laverent "The Bath", signed C. Laverent (possibly French) and dated "1873". The painting depicts a mother getting her children ready for a bath. One child looks to be unhappy with the upcoming ablutions. This is a charming scene. The canvas is framed in an elaborate and lovely giltwood frame.
