These have a wonderful back design with a sweetheart motif. These appear to be earlier production but I don’t know what the date of production was. This style was produced from 1849 on. This design is the No. 4 chair associated with Cafe Daum as they used these chairs starting circa 1849 and the following 15 years. This appears to be a much earlier production date as the back legs are bolted on instead of having blocks and screws. No label remains. Please note that I have 4 more of these chairs available (total 6), I have been meaning to list the other 4 and they will be available in another listing soon. Some areas with heavier finish wear and loss. These feel very solid but I think tightening up a screw or two might be helpful. The cane seats are in excellent condition with very little wear, they have a nice amount of patina but they might have been rewoven at some point in time. One has some contemporary protector tips added to the back legs. Some residue spots on the undersides of the seat/ frame. Overall depth is an estimate as it’s hard to get a precise measurement. There’s a crack on the inside of the seat next to the bolt for the back leg but it doesn’t seem to be a problem structurally or go through or very deep. One of the back legs has a long shallow chip out of the wood near the tip facing the back. less
