From our ‘Modern Classics’ collection, as inspired by Oriental Khotan Samarkand rugs—this rug features geometric patterns, medallions in an open field style. The material construction of silk lends a delicious play of light to this style, as do this piece’s contemporary and old-world colors together. The field features silver gray and beige tones underscore gold and camel colors, seen most present in the geometric patterns of field and border alike—cloudband borders, spandrels, fou/shou medallions like those seen in Art Deco rugs, just a few of the motifs at play here.
