- Up for sale is a beautiful pair of Antique Original Art Nouveau Style Bronzed Spelter Bookends manufactured by Jennings Brothers … more Up for sale is a beautiful pair of Antique Original Art Nouveau Style Bronzed Spelter Bookends manufactured by Jennings Brothers of Bridgeport, Conn. Both bookends are marked with what appear to be JB 2391 Pat. App’d For. They are exceptionally well crafted in the form of open books with the highly detailed busts of Dante & his beloved Beatrice emerging from each volume. The bookends are a wonderfully beautiful chocolate finish, and measure app. 5 1/2 inches H X app. 5 11/16 inches W X app.3 3/4 inches D. Overall, these very collectable bookends are in very nice antique original condition in which they were located within a local estate. These came from the estate of Fredrick Michael Feigl. 1901-1980. There is information on Mr. Feigl as he was a man of some note. Also there is info on the Jennings Brothers Mfg. co., as they were a highly respected and reputable company which started manufacturing in 1890. less
