The carved wood has a rich finish to it and the dogs have a real life to them - see pic #8. Whether this is by design or fault, but the dogs actually swivel which means you can face them in a different direction if you choose. All in all, this interesting pair would grace any shelf / book collection wonderfully while also making a most thoughtful gift.

Also of interest is that these bookends were sourced in Los Angeles at the "Sony Prop House" which closed down in September 2023. Written in pen on the base underneath is "Sony" and some kind of reference number. If you think you may have seen these in a film or T.V. show then you probably have! (Frasier?!) I have no C.O.A. other then the markings which Sony added to them (- so as not to lose them on a studio set somewhere.)
