--------------------------
the glashütte peill and son in düren, destroyed in world war ii, and the hütter of the putzler brothers from penzig, expropriated by the polish state, joined together in 1946. From this, the düren work with the directors günther peill and hans ahrenkiel under the name peill + putzler was created in 1952. The first glass was melted in 1948. In 1994 this important hut had to stop work. Important designers such as prof. Wagenfeld, wilhelm braun-feldweg and aloys f. Gangkofner worked for the glassworks peill + putzler and made them known primarily in architectural circles. The collaboration with aloys f. Gangkofner stretched from 1953 to 1958. A large number of lighting models and goblin sets were created. The timeless iris glass was produced and sold until the 80s.
aloy's f. Gangkofner developed new techniques for inflating the lighting bodies, which he had already tested in waldsassen when it was blown out. The implementation of these techniques for industrial production solved the forms of the factual rigor of the early 1950s and gave them individual independence. The lighting bodies not only served their purpose, but were also a emphasized form for modern space when it was illuminated. A particularly successful model was "venezia".
