Hemera & alkinoos sculpting female and male into sensual neutrality the hemera sculpture aims to question and reimagine the male and the female. In the making of the hemera studies, a male and female torso were explored and resculpted into something new. The hemera sculpture is an abstraction of its previous exploration and is designed as an interplay of male and female body curves that flow into each other. As a way to express both neutrality and sensuality, the sculpture was created by placing and removing clay over and over for months until the hemera got its androgenic shape. However you look at it, the object shows different and often hidden lines representing the fluidity and secrecy of gender as a whole. Alkinoos is half the size of hemera and looks into the other dimension. Atelier ledure atelier ledure is the joint project of designers and makers, father and son, filip and victor ledure.
