(Will Hardy passed away at the age of 94 on May 24, 2018) All of these items are translucent made of high-quality lucite that is designed in neat vertical facets with one horizontal brilliant cut band near the top of each container. At first glance, the set looks like it might be made of cut crystal similar in style to the cut used by Tiffany & Co. in its reed cut bowl designed by Josef Reidel. However, once I understood that Wilardy is known for its remarkable purse designs the precious feel and look of these catering oriented items made sense. Not only are they well made they have a sense of minimalist luxury that is not easily found in the marketplace. Moreover, the engineering is brilliant. For example, the jointed lid on the canister that has the engraved Wilardy engraved logo when closed allows the unity to become airtight and solid fitting. Each of the two bowls have 3 small rubber bumps that act as feet to hold the bowls just high enough so that the bottom of the units do not get scratched when used and by coming in contact with variable surfaces.

There are 3 separate items in this lot plus 1 bonus item included:
1 large bowl (5" H x 13" W x 1/4" D)
1 medium bowl ( 4 3/4" H x 11" W x 1/4" D);
1 lidded canister (9" H x 7" W x 1/4" D)
Bonus: 1 lucite cake pedestal (5" H x 12" W x 1/4" D). (Please note: the pedestal cake riser is not a Wilardy designed item and it's manufacturer is unknown)

These pieces were most likely introduced in 1993. The style is Hollywood Regency Glamorous with a strong Art Deco influence. Whether used to serve food, chill or dispense ice, or as the centerpiece of a floral arrangement, these items are exceptional. See less
