Fine large panel engravings on 2 panels depict the same farming scene with 2 Chinese figures, a scholar with a book on an ox and a second figure holding a basket. The censer is cast with a compressed globular body flanked by two loop handles. The base is cast with a xuande mark. Censers are used for incense burning and generally found at the entrance of temples. The first Chinese bronze censers are recorded as far back as 1600BC.
