Superb quality, two part construction, bottom done in a form of a slant front desk, and the top featuring two large mirrored doors. Palatial sized, arching dome top reaches 81" in height, when opened it reveals shelves, drawers and doors matching the ones inside the desk below. The bookcase and desk interiors are one of the nicest you will ever see, burl walnut and heavenly carvings match the great quality gilt tooled leather writing surface. Original hardware is present, keys and functioning locks. Between the door on the top and lid on the bottom you have a pair of candle slides. Below the desk lid are two sliding supports for the writing surface. This incredible desk is in good condition, showing less then expected age / use wear for 200+ years of age (please see photos). Size is large 92" tall, 40" wide, and 19" deep from the wall. Originally purchased by for well over $25,000. Rare antique piece in this style and condition, it will be a crown jewel in any important collection, great for home or office! less
