These would have been originally carved for use as plaster moulds for producing decorative wall plaques. Hand carved symmetrical form, featuring a figure of Vishnu (one of the principal deities, the preserver and protector of the universe) this reverse impression of the plaster pattern provides a beautiful, almost mesmerizing form with geometric pattern on each side. The plaque is mounted on a bespoke made heavy raw steel base to provide weight and contrasting texture to the wood. This piece will add character and texture to your internal décor and will work equally well in a modernist contemporary setting or traditional architecture. A truly unique piece of shelf art, with a history and individual character that cannot be matched by newer made pieces.
