Images by: Amber Van Bossel The frame of this chair is an ode to the longstanding tradition of tube bending in the Belgium furniture scene. Two mirrored steel lines dance around the plywood and leather seating, form a union leading upward and embrace the leather backrest. There are no trivialities with this design yet the simple geometrical duet between the circular seat and rectangular backrest render the whole a poetic playfulness. The chair is a collaboration between Part and young antwerp shoemaker/designer Anne Goovaerts. Therefore much of the detailing in the leatherwork comes forth from her craftswomanship in contrast to more classical upholstery. less
