Very eye catching and uuseful Oriental / Chinese wall mirror mounted in a black lacquer frame with meticulous geometric & scrolled designs painted in red, gold, and white. An inset panel over the mirror is hand carved and hand painted with a scene portraying an elegant white egret in a lush aquatic setting with peonies and jade green rushes with white flowers.
Supported by Chinese brass wall hangers.
Retains "Peoples Republic of China" paper label on verso.
Early Peoples Republic period, circa 1950s - 1970s.
Condition is very good. Some minor lacquer loss mainly along back edge at top not visible from front.
