"The photographic exhibition Anniversary 55 of the victory of the Cuban people in Girón Beach was inaugurated in the House of Culture of the municipality of Jagüey Grande, in the province of Matanzas, as part of the day dedicated to the glorious epic.

The exhibition includes emblematic images of mercenary military aggression, organized, financed and directed by the United States in April 1961, and photos of the 156 martyrs who fell in the battle of Girón are exhibited, as well as the war reports issued by the then captain José Ramón Fernández during the actions.

It is also composed of several photos where the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, appears in one of them mounted on the Sau 100 tank, from where he made the shot that sank the mercenary ship Houston."
