Butter molds were made to create "pretty" individual butter pats or a larger piece of butter meant for all to share at the table. These molds are carved from solid wood and each are solid/heavy. These certainly could be used, however, we think these would look fabulous displayed in a antique bowl or hung on the wall of a farmhouse style kitchen. Because butter molds were handmade each are a piece of folk art that harken back to a time where meal-time was a social event. We would consider this set in good condition showing some minor wear to the wood finish. Please review the photographs to see the condition details up close.

Rectangle 4 mold: 8.5" height x 2" wide x .75" deep
