Rustic Meiji period chest featuring hammered iron hardware, a flat hinged top and bracket feet with two carrying handles on the sides. The oversized iron hinges and corner reinforcements highlight its excellent craftsmanship while the clasp and connecting chain further secure the top and add great detail. The chest has a distressed patina which adds lots of warmth and character to the piece. It is sturdy and has maintained its structural integrity.
