Original oil painting portrait of James Joyce depicts the Irish novelist and poet seated and holding a cane as he sat for a photograph in 1928 taken by Berenice Abbot, a renowned photographer and American Expatriot who photographed many great 20th-century writers and artists in Paris in the 1920s.
A soft color palette of a blush pink background and brown suit, accented with a green and white striped tie, is of the artists' imagination since the original photograph was black and white.
