A delicate, textured assemblage by American artist Gene Hedge, made of found paper collected in the vacant lots of Chicago. Hedge’s beautiful three-dimensional compositions —crafted from newsprint, insulating material, and other rescued detritus— represent an act of artistic alchemy, gesturing at the informality of Abstract Expressionism while honoring and elevating the refuse of the everyday.
Hedge has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
