Designed by Gunnar Nylund, (Swedish, 1914-1997). … more A large ashtray shell like in it’s design, and produced by Rörstrand, Sweden, 1950s. Designed by Gunnar Nylund, (Swedish, 1914-1997). Signed by this highly collectible designer. In good condition, with no cracks or chips with the most beautiful soft organic shape and blue multi coloured glaze. Nylund served as artistic director at Rörstrand, where he worked, 1931-1955. Prior to his work at Rörstrand he was a well-established ceramic artist in Denmark at Bing & Grøndahl, and later he founded ceramic workshop Saxbo, in partnership with Nathalie Krebs. Other ceramicists of the period include Axel Salto, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Wilhelm Kåge , Arne Bang and Stig Lindberg. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
