The Ibis is a sacred bird related to knowledge and protection and is usually found mummified in tombs of pharaohs. It is also a long-legged graceful bird found near coastal areas, wetlands, and marshes. The vase is very detailed with many Ibis birds in tall thick stalking plants. You have to look closely inside the plants to find the birds. A stunning example of art glass of the day. The lower part of the vase is satin glass and the upper part of the vase is clear glass. It captures light beautifully.
