This Kenneth Noland rare Modernist custom framed fine art silkscreen print " Corn Sweet " 1961, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The fine art silkscreen print is published by Editions Acte II, Belgium, printed in 2002 in Belgium in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork image originally created by Noland in 1961 titled " Corn Sweet ", copyright Sabam Belgium 2002, Nol.354.
Kenneth Noland ( 1924 - 2010 ) is an American Modernist painter. He was a primary force in the development of Postwar Abstract Art and one of the best known Color Field painters. He was considered an Abstract Expressionist in the 1950's, and as a Minimalist painter in the 1960's. He studied Bauhaus Design and color theory from the Modern Master educator Josef Albers. Noland helped to establish The Washington Color School Movement.
In 1977 he was honored by ma major retrospective exhibition at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Instead of painting with a brush, Noland's style was to stain the canvas with color. This idea sought to remove the artist through brushstrokes, and made the piece more about the art, not the artist. Art works by Noland are included in the colllections of many of the most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print framed Modernist silkscreen print measures 20 3/4" W X 20 3/4" H X 1 5/8" D. It is printed on Italian Tintoretto archival premium heavyweight paper stock with vibrant ink colors in a matte finish.
