All the brass & heavy ormolu embellishments are … more Large 6 feet wide French Empire style partners desk with leather desktop. All the brass & heavy ormolu embellishments are original to desk. Has an elegant black leather top with embossed gilt trim details framed by a flat brass molding. This desk has a large center drawer and two side drawers for a total of 3 drawers. Each drawer comes with a large brass lion-flanked handle, keyplate, working lock & key, and pulls out with ease. The back of the desk is finished the same as the front, but the drawers are fronts and not functional. The ormolu throughout is exceptional, each finely chiseled and finished. The body is raised over tapered legs of solid mahogany? ending in simple brass ball feet. Very distinctive piece. Unknown maker.
