The exterior black matte shell does show signs of wear and some scuffs, and spots commensurate with its age and usage, particularly on the bottom rim (see photos). Do not place in dishwasher. Best to clean with mild detergent and dry with soft cloth. less

"Herbert Krenchel’s desire was to make a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that would be used in the kitchen as well as on the dining table; a design piece that would exude high quality and exclusivity."I am excited about shapes and structures. The surface on a design object is important because it makes people want to reach out for it. I also believe that there has to be a balance between function and aesthetics. A good design must therefore contain more than one aspect to make the perfect overall impression," [sic: he] stated.
Production of the original Krenit bowls ceased in 1964. By that time about 1 million bowls had been sold as of 1953.
Offered is a classic mid 20th Century Danish Krenit white enamel on black matte metal bowl. The bowl stands on a narrow flat rounded base and is of deep rounded form with the inner bowl decorated in a vibrant white enamel within a black matte shell.
The conical-shaped bowl measures 9.875" in diameter, has a round flat base that is 3" in diameter, and is 5.5" in height / depth.
Note: The vintage Ikea "Sydlig" white plastic salad servers are props, not included with the bowl. less
