There was an offer to go anywhere for my birthday—I chose Chicago in the middle of the winter. I was on the hunt for a mid-century modern sofa and what better place to find one than in the birthplace of the style.
It was windy and freezing, the usual by Chicago standards (by Sunday we added the snow. Eventually we uncovered and it met all my criteria.
It was perfect with a low profile, clean lines, and a minimalistic design. It featured tapered legs and a tufted back. The gray tweed fabric was the original and in perfect condition. Finally, the sofa was incredibly comfortable and inviting,
