Elaborately Carved Exotic Wood Mantel Clock from the Late 19th Century
We present you this unique mantel clock in an openwork, elaborately carved wooden case, which is made of exotic wood.
The whole item is integrated with a wooden base on brass legs, and finished with an ivory pinnacle.
Furthermore, the clock mechanism has a cylinder escapement.
The clock strikes full hours and halves.
On the back of the mechanism cover, there is a mark of the French workshop, Costeux, located in Saint Dominic Street in Paris.
The case is in perfect condition. Moreover, the mechanism is functional, after a horologic service. The rear cover of the clock’s inside is missing.
Chairish sells clocks only with display as the intended use. The mechanical elements are not guaranteed to be in working order by Chairish.
