Century to create the effect of alabaster for the tone and luminance and purity of a young girls face, and the use of Carrara marble for the dress. This effect was very well received in the 19th. century. Also easier to ship without damage. With the use of two different types of quarried stone created a grand illusion that could not be obtained otherwise. This piece is unsigned by the artist. less
