A good and early example by Alvar Aalto for Artek, Sweden bentwood birch and black laminate Stool 60. Circa 1950. Fully signed on the bottom with ink stamp, Aalto Design, Artek, Made in Sweden, 60. Signature bentwood legs featuring the finger joint structural element around the bend of each leg and a round black laminate top. These came in several colors. A Mid Century Modern icon.
Good overall condition with minor cosmetic wear from age and use. Structurally sound and sturdy design. No visible cracks or delaminating of the legs. Some minor pin holes, scratches and circular cracks on the black laminate top. Staining on the legs from age age and use.
