Depicts a Victorian scene with a mailman delivering a letter to a young woman in a farm landscape.
This is not a reproduction, if you magnify the close-up photos, you can see the characteristic irregular dot pattern of a chromolithograph, not the even dots of a modern print.
The colors are bright and crisp. The ornate carved wood frame is original and is the same age as the chromolithograph.
The frame has a small (less than 1 inch) section of wood missing on the inner edge, at the top, just right of the center. Otherwise, the print and the frame, both 127 years old, are in excellent condition for their age. The chromolithograph has been dry mounted and rematted for preservation and the original frame glass replaced.
