Description: This Mid 20th Century Chest/Trunk originated from the Texas Coast, and is constructed of solid wood, with a metal lock … more This Mid 20th Century Chest/Trunk originated from the Texas Coast, and is constructed of solid wood, with a metal lock but no key. Rotating tool rests adorn the inside of the trunk’s lid. In addition, when the lid is open, the front panel is allowed to be removed , revealing seven drawers of various sizes and configurations. There is an attractive, aged patina to the wood, although there is some staining both inside and out. Imperfections also include a few chips to the wood along the bottom edge. Please refer to the images. In spite of these imperfections, the chest is considered in excellent condition, commensurate with its age and use.

This chest/trunk has functioned in a number of different ways over the years. It has been a craftsman’s trunk, coffee table, bench, side table and collector’s chest of fishing flies. It is not only a versatile piece of furniture, but can easily do double duty as safe way to store one’s treasures at the same time! less
