Gorgeous pair of French carved fauteuil armchairs made in the grand Louis XVI taste. The intricately carved frames are decorated with neoclassical motifs of acanthus, rosettes, and ribbon swag bows. The chairs have wide arms measuring 25 inches high conjoined to a generous seat. The frames are newly upholstered with a whimsical French ticking stripe fabric. Solid and sturdy with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The frames have a lovely aged patina on the wood finish in a natural dark honey tone. From an estate in Napa Valley, CA.
