Tabs at the end and slots on the top would suggest that it was part of a larger continuous surface; the tab protrusions could easily be removed if one desires a squared off edge.
Flat back makes it a cinch to hang as wall decor; just add hanging hardware as needed (not included). Perfect over a doorway or window, above a mantel, or as a grouping with framed art.
