About the artist:

Dr. Maria Steinbauer, a specialist in psychiatry and neurology, has had a successful career in the field of mental health. She has worked as a senior physician at the Psychiatric University Klinik Graz, where she managed a general psychiatric ward with a focus on inpatient psychotherapy. In 1987, she developed and implemented a psychotherapeutic unit in the women's psychiatric ward, integrating a psychotherapeutic concept at the psychiatric level. Dr. Steinbauer has observed and described psychiatric clinical pictures and therapy processes, and has also conducted therapy courses in the concept of Integrative Painting Therapy. She has published numerous works, given lectures both domestically and internationally, and exhibited her own artwork. In 1997, she received a license to teach psychiatry and has since continued her private psychotherapeutic practice. Dr. Steinbauer has also been involved in humanitarian missions, providing psychiatric and psychotherapeutic support in crisis situations such as the Kosovo crisis, the Thailand tsunami disaster, and the Beslan tragedy in Russia. less
