This is part of Chairish’s Fine Jewelry assortment.
This delicate and dear 14k gold ring combines some of the most enticing qualities of Victorian mourning jewellery. In its centre is a banded agate disc carved with a quatrefoil design. The agate contains two shades of blue that create an intricate X-shaped floral graphic symbol. A circular ball motif of 14k gold frames the disc, and on either side is a hand-engraved scrolling foliate of leaves. The bottom of the band features a vibrant turquoise enamel that looks stunning against the gold.
The interior of the band contains a cursive script that reads “In memory of A.L.F.”
The ring acid tests to be 14k gold. Circa 1870.
