The extra layer creates an oversized 24" tree that will fill that larger space. The extra layer can be removed and a smaller, yet still substantial 21" tree fits nicely on the base. It has over 60 multi colored large lights and a star.
It is marked 1978 Alberta's Molds, Inc., this is a lesser know mold which makes the tree more unusual and desirable. It was glazed in 1980 and has the following inscription on the base "11/80 Kenny & Genny Thank You! Much Love, Loren,Sherry Jim,Ken Lorie, Mike. less

The base layer has rough glaze on the underside to make the pieces sit together sturdily. It is by design and is completely covered by the tree when set on the base layer. It tree has been well taken care of and is in wonderful vintage condition. less
