While the original's dimensions and outline are maintained, solid wood becomes the material of choice for the base. Employing six hours, the intricate construction process harnesses the skills of cassina's carpenters, who oversee every stage of the process, to the potential provided by the latest and most innovative machinery. The base, on which sits the table-top, is composed of 22 staves derived from solid curved ashwood, slotted into two "crowns", at top and bottom. The outcome? a stunning table, its personality rejuvenated, a veritable symbol of the extraordinary design and manufacturing excellence of cassina's craftsmen. Lebeau wood is a spectacular example of a solid wood table derived from the original table by patrick jouin, maintaining the original size and contours, while transforming the structure with the use of a new material. The combination of the dexterity of the meda artisans and the most modern cnc machinery led to an extremely innovative construction in which the base of the table with round top is made up of 22 curved solid wood slats.
