Lebeau wood and marble table by patrick jouin manufactured by cassina in italy lebeau wood is an evolution of the iconic and innovative lebeau table. While the original's dimensions and outline are maintained, solid wood becomes the material of choice for the base. Employing six hours, the intricate construction process harnesses the skills of cassina's carpenters, who oversee every stage of the process, to the potential provided by the latest and most innovative machinery. The base, on which sits the table-top, is composed of 22 staves derived from solid curved ashwood, slotted into two "crowns", at top and bottom. The outcome? a stunning table, its personality rejuvenated, a veritable symbol of the extraordinary design and manufacturing excellence of cassina's craftsmen. Lebeau wood is a spectacular example of a solid wood table derived from the original table by patrick jouin, maintaining the original size and contours, while transforming the structure with the use of a new material. The combination of the dexterity of the meda artisans and the most modern cnc machinery led to an extremely innovative construction in which the base of the table with round top is made up of 22 curved solid wood slats. While the designs and functional concepts have been precisely preserved, the models have been manufactured using evolved technology. This is also the company that has manufactured iconic pieces of contemporary design from the 50’s to the present day, ideated by some of the most important international designers. Today cassina continues to look to the future of design with audacious, passionate curiosity and an open, holistic approach.
