The solid black walnut frames are in 100% original, vintage condition and have aged to perfection showing only minor signs of vintage wear such as minor surfaces scratches and nicks (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided) but showing no stains, gouges or other damage whatsoever. The seats, redone in a fabulous dark gray velour, show no signs of wear whatsoever and are complete with new medium-density foam for maximum comfort. These aesthetically captivating chairs are comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use. Please view all photos for details on this chair set's current condition. Designed by Robert Foster Jr. in the early 1960's this exquisite set of angular armchairs for Foster McDavid, a small Tampa-based boutique furniture company established in 1950-1975, is proof that American designers could compete with their Scandinavian counterparts of the mid-century period.
With playful geometric patterns carved from the black walnut backrests that scream "1960's" and featuring newly upholstered cushions in a fabulous dark gray velour this set of Atomic-era lounge chairs is truly unlike any other.
