The piece is titled: "ELEPHANT NOCTURNE" Artist Proof, serigraph, originally hand signed by Leroy Neiman. It was originally purchased from Bowles/Hopkins(later known as known as Bowles/Soroko gallery) and currently known as Franklin Bowles Galleries, in San Francisco, California. A transfer of title, written by the previous owner (1993) an Attorney, accompanied with the gallery sticker on the back of the frame, and the cashed check for purchase.

Mrs. Vaunna Dardenne, had a collection of nine works of art from Leroy Neiman, as she would frequent (At that time) the Franklin Bowles gallery in San Francisco, California; over the many years she became to know him personally. Leroy Neiman was usually present at Franklin Bowles gallery and enjoyed greeting guests, and talking about his up-and-coming new projects.
As her daughter, I was introduced to Mr. Neiman when I resided in California, over the years when I visited the city; I joined my Mom to meet with Mr. Neiman on five occasions, including, enjoying lunch and an Irish coffee at the Buena Vista Cafe. less
