This trunk boasts ornate features and warm tones, including a (greenish) brown painted exterior canvas lining, walnut stained wooden structural banding, metal seam reinforcements with nail-head accents, and decorative corner and edge pieces reminiscent of the industrial age. One particularly rare feature are the original leather trunk straps and buckles. It is so unusual to find these elements intact, and they give this trunk an especially warm and authentic feel!

This a very charming rustic piece with ample cosmetic wear and tear for a that special look of authenticity that only comes with age, including scratches, nicks and stains from years of travel. The original leather handles have deteriorated beyond use. Although they easily can be replaced, I left the piece alone for those buyers who (like me) seek an authentic look. These "imperfections" do not detract from the overall look of the piece, but they do greatly enhance its unique, antique appearance. less
